Studio Lighting
Oct 20, 2018

The small and medium-sized studios put forward special requirements for the broadcast lighting. Compared with traditional studios, there are a series of problems in lighting that need to be solved.

(1) The illumination of the studio is 1500-2000IX according to the standard requirements of the camera standard image, and the illumination contrast of the editing and other post-production room is not well handled, so it is easy to make the video signal output by the camera not meet the requirements of the broadcast level. Or although the image of the announcer meets the requirements, the background is ambiguous. Especially in the small and medium-sized studio background, the editing room is very easy to make a "black hole". If you simply increase the illumination of the editing area, it will make the editors work under intense glare, which is very uncomfortable. Therefore, the production room and studio lighting should be designed reasonably.

(2) The illumination of the editing room does not require the color temperature and color rendering index of the light source, and the color temperature of the TV camera requires 3200K (300K for cold light source), and the color rendering index is required to be 85 or more (preferably above 90). To meet the lighting requirements of TV cameras with professional studio three-color lighting fixtures, reasonable selection of lighting design is required.

(3) Edit the lighting of the office room, you should only feel the normal brightness, and should not have glare, that is, the staff can not see the light source during normal work and peace of vision. In order to meet the layering and contour of the TV camera picture, the studio lighting requires a certain angle, and the lamps are relatively "naked".

(4) The studio background is treated with a circle of curtains or background boards. The broadcast area and the background editing area are on the same floor height. The background is solid and virtual. The requirements for lighting are completely different. If the background light is not handled well, the TV image is not good. It is easy to have a glaring brightness contrast. Therefore, if there are certain restrictions on reinvestment, it is necessary to make a reasonable allocation adjustment of the lamps. As long as the treatment is done, even if a background light is used, the relative investment is small.
